Master Plan
Detailed Information About HIA’s Plans and Operations.
A Master Plan is an essential document for every airport that is required to be updated periodically by the Federal Aviation Administration. The master plan guides the airport’s planning, programming and development. Typically airport master plans forecast aviation demand, analyze airport capacities and evaluate development over a ten to twenty year period. HIA’s most recent Master Plan was completed in 2016 and addresses areas of interest that will affect the development of the airport in the future. These issues include future utilization of vacant land and buildings, future development of the cargo and Air National Guard areas, the planning for airport capital improvements, and updating of the airport layout drawings.
